January 25 from 2019 - 19: 01

The trains that will circulate in the renewed 9 Line of the TRAM between Dénia and Benidorm are already being finalized. This Friday has been the first test on the route of one of them to perform the dynamic validation on track, and check the status of the mobile unit and its benefits.

The test, which was carried out at the Stadler Rail Valencia factory, was attended by the Minister of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory, María José Salvador, together with the Director General of Public Works, Transport and Mobility, Carlos Domingo, the director manager of FGV, Juan Andrés Sánchez Jordán, and the president of Stadler Rail Valencia, Iñigo Parra.

Salvador has valued the "high quality of these vehicles that will be part of the modernization process of the 9 Line that the Generalitat has launched in the bid to improve communication in the province of Alicante". In fact, he recalled that the modernization plan for this line "It has a joint budget that exceeds 120 million euros and will allow this line to be equated with the rest of the exploitation of the TRAM d'Alacant".

The new units, as the councilor explained, "They will have a design and technical characteristics, updated in accordance with current regulations and compatible with the use of state-of-the-art security, control and communications systems". With the new trains "It guarantees greater reliability and safety, in addition to comfort, accessibility or customer information, in accordance with the standards that FGV provides in the rest of its lines".

Salvador has also emphasized the "uniqueness of the 9 Line of the TRAM d'Alacant" awarded by the "very important tourist capacity" of his journey through the districts of Las Marinas, for which he has shown his conviction that the modernization of this line and the new units will contribute to this.

The new material, due to its technical characteristics, allows it to circulate in a tramway mode, which makes it possible to transport very sensitive sections of the 9 Line, such as the entrance to Dénia. With the tramway mode, the possibilities of integrating FGV infrastructures into urban environments grow, making the mobility of pedestrians and vehicles with the tramway platform more permeable.
