The terraces on La Vía street proliferate ... is it reborn?

August 21 from 2017 - 13: 53

The year 2001 marked a before and after in the physiognomy of one of the main streets of the city of Denia. That year the works of reurbanización of the street La Via were received, a project that included a great underground parking and the pedestrianization of this artery.

What would in principle be an alternative boulevard to the Calle Marques de Campo Ended up becoming an almost desert area. And not only because of the lack of trees after the controversial felling of banana trees, but because the shops and businesses that opened their doors there left the area.

There have been many attempts by the different government teams to give life to the area, transferring cultural and social events there. In 2010, the summer cultural activities were held entirely on the stage that was installed there. The street also became one of the settings for the programming of the festivals, and even came to host the retreat and final shot of the festivities of Moors and Christians.

But nothing seemed to be worth to return the life to this street. Until this summer. A number of bars have opened their doors and, for the moment, they seem to work. Especially at night, when the terraces are filled with people who choose this area to dine or have a drink.

That yes, only in a part of the street. The area of the buildings that give to Patricio Ferrándiz does not seem to enjoy so much popularity among the merchants. Even so, the street has won in life and in movement in recent months, and that is to be thankful.

In addition, the City Council has taken steps to improve both the safety and the image of this road. A few months ago he erected a protection wall next to the abandoned farm to avoid access to this dangerous infrastructure. In addition, at the beginning of August the Urbajove contest filled this wall with color thanks to the designs of five graffiti artists from the region.

It seems to be advancing in the right direction and that, sixteen years after the beginning of the works, the street begins to be what it should be. The pending issue now is traffic regulation: either prohibited or allowed, but the current situation is somewhat chaotic. Touch to get to work.

What the city council has to do is the street the most attractive, it is a shame the money spent and so bad result not only that they close the passage to the cars, but their pavement and others is not a walk of what they were promised is A bad work full of defects and not forgetting the bad smells of the garbage of the nearby street is a shame that does not give a solution being a very important and central street, try to make Denia more beautiful

Truly, there are plenty of bars. It is a very wide area and so it looks multipurpose. Chocolates Valor, had the courage to settle there and when he could ... he switched to insurance, paying much more.
You walk around and there is plenty of cement ... too arid. Complicated solution ... and of course the neighbors closest to the old station are tired of noise, concerts and various events.
I encourage and that they contribute their lives, to resurrect this area ... but I wonder, was she ever alive?
Yes, in times of the lemon express train… .with the chucuchucuchuuuu.
