The Local Police of Dénia has joined the solidarity campaign nationwide #Pelsvalents that fights against childhood cancer.
These are shields like those worn by local police officers in their uniforms, which can be attached to clothing or backpacks to give visibility to the cause. The shields will be distributed by a minimum donation of 5 euros, and the profits will go to the Aspanion association for the fight against childhood cancer and the San Joan de Deu Hospital in Barcelona.
Agent Juanjo Palacios, promoter of this initiative at the local level, explained that this project was born in Catalonia with the aim of building the hospital, which is already in operation. Over time, municipalities such as Vitoria, L'Alcudia (Mallorca) or Almería joined, and now Dénia becomes the first municipality of the Valencian Community to collaborate with the cause. After getting the construction of the hospital, the benefits will now go to childhood cancer research.
The Local Police of Dénia has launched 1.000 shields that they will distribute with the help of different establishments in the city. In addition, when the classes are resumed, in September, the campaign will be taken to dianenses educational centers.
The Councilor for Citizen Protection, Javier Scotto, has explained that the association also collaborates Amunt Against Cancer and the department of parties, through which the help of the Local Board Fallera and the Federation of Moors and Christians for the distribution of the shields.
