The works of improvement of the line 9 of the TRAM as it passes through Dénia are advancing at a good pace. With an investment of nearly two million euros, the Valencian Generalitat has focused the first phase of work on the stretch between the station and the junction with Diana Street.
650 meters in which the remains of old road are being removed to replace it with the new one. These actions will allow the roads to disappear, to transform the level crossings with traffic lights and to eliminate the walls that close the tracks. The result will be a much more permeable and urbanistic integrated avenue, which will end the division that the trenet supposed to cut Dénia on its south side.
The Minister of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory, María José Salvador, visited this Monday the progress of the work with the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, The new managing director of FGV, Juan Andrés Sánchez, and the director of the company in Alicante, Pilar García Reche.
During his visit, Salvador stated that "This is the year of Dénia because, in addition to different redevelopment actions worth 5,7 million for the municipality, the stations between Calp and Dénia are being reformed, the continuation of the modernization of the Line 9 of FGV has been tendered between Calp and Teulada and it is already in the process of drafting the project until Dénia ".
The Consellera expressed the intention of the Generalitat that the improvement of the line is a reality throughout this term since, "The commitment to the railway investment of the Generalitat is clear and what we are developing in Line 9 of the TRAM d'Alacant is the largest railway commitment in the Valencian Community".
