Monologists, tiktokers and a lot of pride with which Dénia will embrace diversity

17 June 2022 - 12: 21

The LGTBIQ+ Pride Day is almost here, so the Department of Equality of the Dénia City Council has summoned the media this Friday to present the program with which to put the city as a regional benchmark in terms of diversity. With this, pointed out the councilor of the area, Javier Scotto, seek to prioritize a vindictive and critical demonstration, away from the more festive side of other locations.

This year's goal "is not only to work for equality, but to respect differences." Something that, as Scotto indicated, has become more urgent considering the hate speech that has already entered administrations. This celebration in Dénia will be focused on breaking with it and facing it. A Day of Pride for the collective, for diverse families and, also, for feminism, for cognitive and functional diversity, for migrant, racialized and refugee people, "because equality will not be achieved if we do not do it with everyone and all".

In the same way, it will be a celebration "against the sexist structure, not against men, because it stifles the diversity of LGTBI people, especially trans women and men, and people with gender expression and who singles us out for plumophobia." », stressed the mayor.

A very youth-focused program

And to carry out these ambitious objectives, the City Council presents a program very focused on young people to spread among them that pride with which to confront hatred and exclusion. It will do so with two bets that stand out, a monologue in the Plaza del Consell by Patricia Galván on June 28 at 20:00 p.m. (after the reading of the City Council manifesto) and the talk tiktokers with pride which will be carried out by Rubén Fresnillo and Daniela Requena, these being two of the most important TikTok users in Spanish territory. This conference will be held on June 29 at 19:00 in the Municipal Library.

In addition, the photocall will be placed again from June 23 Wings for diversity under the town hall. In the same way, on the facade of the building there will be a surprise LGTBIQ + intervention that the councilor has not wanted to reveal, but who promises that it will be a clear sign that Dénia is proud of her diversity, exhibiting her pride throughout the dimension of it.
