More than 200 tons of posidonia accumulated in Dénia after 5 days of storm

27 September 2021 - 12: 57

The City Council of Dénia has begun the work to remove the posidonia from the beaches. After five days of maritime storm, more than 200 tons of this aquatic plant, endemic to the Mediterranean, have been collected in the capital of the region.

Specifically, 60 tons have been removed from the Marge Roig. There are already 75m clean to facilitate bathing, after the return to high temperatures since this weekend. In the Marineta Cassiana the figure increases to 160 tons of posidonia withdrawn.

During the past week in most of the beaches of Dénia the red flag waved due to a maritime storm. After the storm, now the calm returns and little by little the beaches recover to continue enjoying the good weather while it lasts.
