Marina de Dénia expands resources to preserve the environment

The marina and tourist Marina de Denia Has made a clear commitment to the environment with the launch of a series of pioneering initiatives this summer. The port director, Gabriel Martínez, stated that "The constant concern of our port for the care of the environment has led us to expand the resources allocated to it. Taking care of both the marine and urban environment is essential so that our clients, when they arrive, feel at ease".

That is why from now on, every boat that arrives at the port is given three bags of garbage, each one of a color. In this way, they will carry out a selective collection of the waste, and then deposit them in the corresponding containers. To facilitate the management of waste, they are given a map indicating the location of the containers in the port.

In the offices of Marina de Dénia you can also find the Decalogue Citizen against marine litter, edited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment. In which explains what can be done to take care of the sea and what are the marine debris. It has also been equipped to the whole port of containers to collect the batteries.

Caring for the environment generates employment

Gabriel Martinez has assured that, "Business, caring for the environment, it works. We have increased employment by 20% in recent months. This is the second issue that concerns us, generate employment. We are already 300 people and we will grow more".

Concern about anchorages

We cannot claim to have more than 3.000 ships between Dénia and Xàbia and only 100 buoys ".
