The Moors and Christians celebrate the "Mig Any" week

Between the 20 and the 23 of February the Mig Any of the party of Moors and Christians, which celebrates that six months have passed since the party and six more are missing to fill the streets of Dénia with music and color again.

The president of the Association of Moors and Christians (AMMICC), Josele Maldonado, accompanied by the councilman of festivals, Paco Arnau, and the 2013 captains, Rafa Cheli and José Vicente Ivars, presented yesterday afternoon this year's program, which will begin with the opening of the festive photography exhibition on Monday at the 19: 30 at the Casa de Cultura. During the ceremony, the names of the winners of the drawing and photography contests will be announced.

This year a total of 21 images have participated in the festive photo contest, which will remain exposed throughout the week at the Casa de Cultura de Dénia.

Wednesday will be the most intense day, with the celebration of the mass in memory of the deceased festeros at 19 hours in the Church of San Antonio. The presentation of captains and first tró, which was held for the first time last year, will be at the 20: 30 hours at the Social Center, at which time the drawing prizes will be handed out annually by the AMMICC and the prizes to the winners of the Festera Photography Contest.

On Thursday, the Valgamedís square will host the reception of the two captaincies, Deniers for the christian side y Abencerrages for the Christian side, from the 21: 30 hours. This year, for the first time and due to the cuts the party has suffered, the reception of the captaincies will be held jointly. In addition there will be no entraeta but will concentrate the party in the square.

On Friday 22, from the 21: 30 hours, will take place in the Salons El Poblet the gala dinner, and the highlight of the week of mig any will arrive on Saturday afternoon, at 20 hours, with the entrance that will offer all filaes from the Plaza del Consell through Diana and Marqués de Campo streets.
