The three tourist information points of Denia, Central Office, Office in Plaza Consell and Information Point in Explanada Cervantes, attended, during the second half of July, an average of 965 people each day. In total, in those two weeks, they approached 15.442 people looking for information (5.666 more than the previous year).
These are data that come from the valuation of the last weeks prepared by the Department of Tourism of Dénia, in which it is noteworthy that of the total number of visitors, an 51% has been attended in the central office, an 26% in the office from the Plaza del Consell and an 23% at the point of the Esplanade Cervantes that opens in the evenings / nights.
A total of 17.262 requests for information have been registered, which have focused mainly on general local information (28%), cultural activities (20%) and festivals (13.4%), followed by surroundings (8.7%), hiking routes ( 4 %), beaches (3.7%) and transportation (3.5%).
Regarding the origin of the visitors, the 45% has been of national origin and an 55% of international origin. Of the National Total, the Community of Madrid has meant an 48% of the affluence, followed by the rest of the Valencian Community (14.4%), local residents (7.1%), Castilla-León (6.4%) and Basque Country (5.8%) . Of the Total International, France has contributed the 49.3% of the affluence, followed by the United Kingdom, with an 15.4%, and in 3º Germany with an 12.4%. Followed by Belgium (4.64%) and Holland (3.86%).
The occupation of the second fortnight of the month of July has been located in the 86% in hotel establishments; the 61% in campsites and the 78% in tourist rental accommodations.
For the first two weeks of August, occupancy in hotel establishments is expected to oscillate on the same parameters as in 2017, exceeding 83%; while 75% is foreseen in campsites and 91% in tourist rental accommodation, 6% more in tourist rentals than in 2017.
