Women in the region are clamoring for a life free of violence machista

Despite the fact that International Women's Day is celebrated tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8, the women of the region supported the demonstration of the Xarxa de Dones de la Marina Alta last Friday through the streets of Dénia to demand a state pact against sexist violence.

Manifestation of the Xarxa de Dones

The participants, who gathered in Glorieta Country Valencià, toured the Calle Marques de Campo holding a banner that could be read Against les Violències Masclistes. Pacte d'estat ja! until reaching the Red Cross Plaza, where they read a manifesto in which they denounced "systematic cuts in general public resources, sexual rights and reproductive rights, cuts in the voluntary termination of the pregnancy of minors between 16 and 17 years, and cuts in specialized resources against sexist violence".

The manifesto recalled the participation of the Network of Dones and eight more associations in the demonstration last November in Madrid 7 Against Violence Machos to raise awareness of gender violence and demand that measures be taken to eradicate it.

The Xarxa de Dones required for reading the manifesto that the whole society and its organizations and institutions engage in this struggle and that emphasis is placed on the protection of affected, providing different outputs involving real life, economic recovery and social of them as well as children.
