The ship "Trabuco" of the patron Francisco Martínez of the Royal Yacht Club of Torrevieja, was the winner in real time in the XVIII Edition of the Copa del Canal. The boat, "Café del Mar" of the San Antonio de Portmany Yacht Club, was the one who won in compensated time.
The race developed uneventful except output having to be delayed one hour. Were a total of 23 units which disputed the 56 nautical miles separating Denia from near the Yacht Club of San Antonio Abad.
It was a quiet competition with loose winds that rose to 8 knots of intensity. When the fleet was in the center of the canal, there was a strong stifling, which caused delay in arrival. The first ship that reached the finish line was the "Trabuco". Behind were ships arriving until 4 in the morning that was when the last one arrived.
This Canal Cup is a classic scoring race for the Championship of Spain Height of the Mediterranean area in ORC. .

The awards ceremony was held at the Yacht Club of San Antonio where they attended Juan Riera, vice president Real Club Nautico DeniaJuan Antonio Carmona, Dianense Commodore José Antonio Ortensius nautical and member of the board of the CNSA.
