The Community Prevention Unit in Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) of the City of Dénia has been present on May 30 and 31 days in the three public institutes of Dénia on the occasion of the World Day without tobacco that is celebrated today.
The objective of this campaign is to raise awareness and sensitize the student population about the harmful nature of tobacco, the effects and risks involved in consumption and above all, warned of the high risk of habituation and addiction that nicotine has.
Information booths have been set up in the institutes to transmit this information and ensure that the day does not go unnoticed. In addition to the technical staff of the UPCCA, there have been three volunteers and the students of the IES who have collaborated in the campaign.
The information of the campaign has reached about one thousand students, among whom the claim material has been distributed with key messages and information brochures. Taking advantage of this interaction, young people have been talked about the risks of smoking and the advantages of not doing so or of leaving it. It must be said that it has surprised the high degree of awareness that young people have about tobacco and how they are able to recognize the harmful effects and the advantages of not smoking.
