The Platform for the Defense of Public Health of the Marina Alta held an ordinary assembly on Thursday where they denounced the difficulties that many patients have encountered when requesting a second medical opinion in a public hospital other than Dénia.
The spokesman of the platform, Vicent Bolta, pointed out that in many cases patients have been denied the request they had made to move to other public hospitals of the Generalitat, be it La Fe, Doctor Peset or El Clínico. The Platform criticizes the role of the Commissioner that the Ministry of Health has in Marina Salud. This figure must ensure that the private management concessionaire performs its public function adequately.
Other aspects that were discussed at the assembly were the health situation in the region and the need to build a new health center in Pedreguer.
