The majority of tourists in the first fortnight come from Madrid, France, the United Kingdom and Germany

According to the sampling carried out by the Department of Tourism of the Ajuntament de Dénia, the estimate of tourist occupation during the first half of July presents the following data:

• Hotel establishments: 80-85%
• Campsites: 70-75%
• Tourist Rental Accommodations: 75-80%

If we compare these data with those registered in the same period of 2018, we observe an increase of 10% of occupation in campsites and also a slight increase, close to 5%, in hotels and tourist rental accommodations.

Visitors to the offices of Turismo Dénia

According to the statistical data collected by Turismo Dénia at its 3 information points (central office, Plaza del Consell office and information point at the Museu de la Mar), the number of visitors during the 1.ª fortnight in July was more than 400. daily, serving a total of 6.499 people.

Of all visitors, the 51,4% has been of national origin and the remaining 48,6% of international origin, maintaining the trend of our destination.

Of the total of national visitors, the 44,6% came from the Community of Madrid, followed by the rest of the Valencian Community, with an 15,7% and recovering the tourist from Castilla-León, with a registered 6%.

Of the total of international visitors, the first positions of nationalities are occupied by our traditional markets: France (the 40,2% of the total), the United Kingdom (16%) and Germany (14,7%).

Forecast for the 2.ª fortnight

Regarding the forecast of tourist occupancy for the second half of July, in the case of hotel accommodation is around 73%, in campsites oscillates around an 70%, as in the month of July 2018, and in tourist rental accommodation is expected to rise to a percentage between 83 and 85%.

However, the trend of recent years is that reservations are made at the last minute, thus increasing the percentages by approximately 10%.
