At 2013, Dénia Hospital treated 4.500 cancer patients, some of whom were able to test new technologies such as chemoembolization. This technique introduces directly into the artery a cytostatic chemotherapy that is used for the treatment of malignant tumors while releasing a substance that produces embolization or "blockage of the artery," so that the cytostatic acts directly on the tumor lesion.
