Duatleta Sara Gimena, born in Ondara, has triumphed this weekend in the Spanish Duathlon Championship, where she has been proclaimed champion and runners-up by teams in the cadet category with her club Tragaleguas. The tests were conducted in the Asturian town of Avilés, where this athlete who trains under the orders of Franc Beneyto, got the victory.
The first day of competition took place the time trial mode on a first walking segment of 2.600 meters; a second of 12 kilometers on the bike and a third of 1.300 meters of running on foot. Club Tragaleguas was the best, ahead of the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial and Náutico de Narón, which completed the podium.
On the second day of competition, Sara Gimena and her clubmates were runner-up in the relay modality. In this test the distances were 2.600 meters, 6 kilometers and 1.300 meters. The winning team was the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, followed on the podium by Tragaleguas.org and Náutico de Narón.
Joan Puigerver, the dianense, came to this same appointment, and in the two days of competition she finished in eighth place with her club, Tripuçol. On this occasion the Valencian club accused the departure of two of its members to the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial. That is why in this season he has not been able to revalidate his title of champions of Spain.
