27 December 2020 - 13: 40

The Valencian Community has started this Sunday the vaccination against COVID-19 in seven residences for the elderly in the provinces of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia.

The first doses have arrived at the distribution center at 9.53 am and have been distributed in refrigerators to be transported to the residences of Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Torrent, Rafelbunyol, Benissanó, Almassora and Burriana, where the people of these centers will be vaccinated who have confirmed their acceptance.

Throughout the day it is planned to administer a total of 775 doses among residents and health personnel. During the first quarter of 2021, more than 377.000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered in the Valencian Community, corresponding, as two doses per person, to more than 188.000 vaccinated people.

The Department of Universal Health and Public Health hopes that the more than 50.000 people, including workers and residents, who live in residences can be vaccinated throughout the month of January.
