The jury of the XXVI City of Dénia Award for the Training of Adults decided to award the award to CEPA Miguel Hernández de Sagunt and his student association.

The components of the jury, Pascual Murcia, representative of the Adult Training faculty; Encarna Such, representative of the Association of Participating Adults; Vicent Más Estela, director of the FPA Center in Dénia; Melani Ivars, Councilor for Education; Raúl Garcia de la Reina, mayor of Culture; and Maribel Font, a technician from the Culture area of the Dénia City Council, decided to award the prize to both the association and the center at the proposal of the Adult Education Renewal Workshop (TAREPA-PV).

The reason that has motivated this recognition is "attention to the needs demanded by citizens and the response with critical and participatory teaching, being the instrument to go beyond academic knowledge and making the center's ideology oriented towards the comprehensive education of the student. The approach of the school to the most disadvantaged neighborhoods and people has been highlighted; defends and fights for the freedom of women and against machismo; welcoming newcomers; the coordination of municipal centers; the knowledge and use of Valencian and the commitment to new technologies. The maintenance of the initial ideology of the training center has been reviewed after 38 years of teaching activity, in which "they have responded to the training needs of the people who have come to the center".

In the same way, the students' association has been awarded for supporting the general operation of the center, as well as the assemblies and the participation of the students.

The award ceremony will take place on Friday, June 9, at 12 noon in the morning, at the Dénia Municipal Library.
