Álex Pella covered the distance of 3.568 nautical miles from the French port of Saint-Malo and Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe Island in 16 days, 17 hours, 47 minutes 8 seconds, beating the record set in 2010 by Thomas Ruyant . Pella is the first Spanish to win a transoceanic race alone.
This is the latest victory in the list of winners for this internationally renowned sailor who, since last year, has chosen Marina Dénia as a base port for operations and training.
