Kevin and Lala, the protagonists of the latest Dénia cleaning campaign, are looking for a home

12 March 2024 - 10: 14

This week it was presented in Dénia the City Council's new campaign to keep the city clean with two clear focuses: reduce the abandonment of belongings on public roads and prevent animals from relieving themselves and leaving them on the street. For the latter, some posters were made in which they had a very special collaboration, that of Kevin and Lala, two abandoned dogs who "lent themselves" to star in the action and thus be shown to families who might be interested in adopting them.

Although this secondary objective may have gone unnoticed, the campaign is most productive. On the one hand, it seeks to raise awareness so that dog owners clean up the urine and pick up the excrement that their pets leave behind. To do this, they remember that the penalty, in the case of omitting this obligation, can reach 750 euros. Likewise, each sign has a QR code that gives direct access to the municipal ordinance.

But, just as important, it is the other side of the poster, as a space is reserved to remember that the dog that appears in it is looking for a family along with many others who have been abandoned in the Marina Alta. Far from resorting to cheap artificial intelligence like other councils, in Dénia they have chosen to collaborate with APAD to have real dog actors to give them visibility and help them find a home.

Campaign against dog feces in the streets, they propose adopting a dog and where do they want them to take it to defecate? In the end this will be worse than during the Middle Ages. By the way, everything already smells like dog feces.
