19 December 2018 - 08: 24

The cuisine of Dénia continues to travel to different European destinations in search of new tourists who visit the city throughout the year looking for something more than sun and beach. The last one was Hamburg, in Germany, where Dénia participated in an event with the Saborea Spain platform.

Dénia, as a member of Saborea Spain, has participated in the event along with seven other destinations: Cambrils, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Logroño, Tenerife, Trujillo and València. All of them have attended the appointment accompanied by a chef from each destination, who offered a representative cover of the participating locations.

Representing the Dianense gastronomy, the chef José Manuel López, from the Peix i Brases restaurant, presented a tapas tapa of whiting fish over tabellas with sea fennel, sprouts and citrus fruits, as well as pastissets of sweet potatoes.

The participation of Dénia in this event allowed to know better the profile of the tourist of the area of Hamburg, which presents a purchasing level higher than the average of Germany and shows interest in experiential trips, prioritizing sustainability and safety as key elements in your decision making The guests attending the event were primarily tour operators, media and other tourism prescribers from Germany.

According to the Dénia tourism department, Germany is one of our main international issuing markets. The air connections of Hamburg with València and Alicante are ideal -with a diversity of flights, including direct flights- and the tourist profile of the Hamburg area is adapted to the characteristics of Dénia as a tourist destination. In addition, school holidays in Germany occur at different times of the year, so the influx is distributed throughout the year and is not concentrated in the high season, "which is very convenient for our tourist destination".
