On Tuesday morning, around 9:30 a.m., it ran aground at the end of Les Rotes a boat of 12 meters in length with five people on board. According to reports from the Alicante Civil Guard command, the boat was being followed by Customs Surveillance officers from Ibiza for being suspected of containing drug bales.
Apparently the boat suffered a mechanical failure that has made them aground and its occupants have fled on foot. It is believed that the five people aboard the boat were thrown overboard the bales of drugs to be known persecuted.
Members of the Civil Guard and several boats are scouring the area for drugs traveling in the boat, while rushing, the National Police has set up a checkpoint on the road to track down drug traffickers.
