Almost twenty health professionals from the Department of Health of Dénia-DSD- have been attacked during 2019. Most of the attacks have occurred in Primary Care -15- against the -3- reported in the hospital setting.

The Department of Health of Dénia has organized a conference on Prevention of Aggressions in the Health Area with the aim of offering professionals a series of tools based on verbal restraint to avoid future aggressions.

The day was inaugurated by the DSD Assistance Director, Juan Cardona; the Financial Economic Director of the DSD, Sonia Hernández; the Director of Human Resources, Communication and CSR, Corpus Gómez and the Director of Security of Marina Salud, Alfredo Fondón.

Professionals from the National Police Corps, who presented the figure of the health police interlocutor and presented the actions that the institution is carrying out in this area.

During 2018 they reached almost 10.000 throughout Spain, an 15,89% for every 1.000 professionals. Most of the complaints registered nationwide during 2018 were for verbal aggressions. The profile of the attacked professional is that of a woman -factant or nurse- who works in Primary Care consultations, with an age between 35-55 years.

For its part, the profile of the aggressor is that of a user, male -60% - dissatisfied with the assistance received.
