The PP already has a program for Dénia and promises the retreat to Marqués de Campo, goals in each neighborhood and a Tourist Info at the Museu de la Mar

With the electoral campaign just around the corner, there are few parties left to show their electoral program. This Thursday it was the turn of the PP, appearing his candidate, Pepa Font, together with several members of his list to present the program with which the popular want to recover the Mayor's Office.

Pepa Font, candidate for mayor of Dénia for the Popular Party, has presented its electoral program this Wednesday, with which it is committed to an administration at the service of the citizenry. The program is headed by the promised 20% tax cut to compensate people "who hurry day by day for the rise in prices." She has also highlighted the aid for access to housing for young people and the resounding refusal to demarcate the coast that the PGE contemplates.

A more permissive Dénia with vehicles

The PP will bet on the creation of car parks in height, illuminated and safe, compared to what Font has called "dirt terraces" that currently exist. In addition, they will create a sustainable bus line that connects the center with the suburbs, including the interior of La Xara.

Bicycles will be important in Dénia de Font, as it promises aid for the acquisition of these vehicles, the return of a mobile rental fleet and the creation of safe lanes.

One of his great projects: “turn around Marqués de Campo”. The popular one wants to recover the mixed use of the main artery of the city, opening it to traffic in the mornings, in medium and low seasons.

As for the neighborhoods, he has criticized that they are neglected, "more than half of the premises are closed in the places where more people live", for which reason he proposes equal and annual items in each of them. Without forgetting the Montgó, Les Rotes y Marines, where he has promised that they will recover the attention they deserve, carrying out the necessary redevelopment works and generating safe routes through the creation of sidewalks "that are almost nowhere to be found".

The Museu de la Mar for a Tourist Info and winter for Posidonia

He has emphasized the importance of tourism as the city's main industry, so he wants to take care of it, betting on sustainable and responsible tourism, yes. To do this, they will promote nautical tourism and reject the application of the tourist tax.

He has also presented his project to reconvert the current Museu de la Mar so that it can also be used as a tourist office. Some of the museum pieces would be maintained, but emphasis would be placed on the audiovisual elements that allow more space for eventual exhibitions of, for example, festive costumes that may attract tourists.

As for the beaches, despite recognizing the importance of posidonia for the conservation of the coast, "being an important and essential asset", points out that it cannot be present in the sand rotting in high season while people take a bath next to it, as stated that this May bridge has passed.

Baskets or goals in each neighborhood

Sport will also be a priority for the popular. Font affirms that the offers of sports schools have lost a lot in these years, prioritizing the majority sports. Instead, the PP proposes to bring other sports closer to make them known. It also adds to the demand for a new pavilion for federated competitions, in the sports city.

The promotion of sport would be driven by the creation of sports activities for children between 0 and 6 years old and residents over 65, which will be totally free. The recovery of the Sports Gala that they have proposed would also serve to encourage the practice of this.

And not only that, but he wants to put a basket or a goal in each neighborhood so that young people have small facilities where they "kick the ball."

In the sports area, Font has been very critical of the organization of the staff, as he points out that before there were four monitors on staff to carry out public activities and now the service has been outsourced. It is something that, according to the popular, not only shows the "contradiction of the PSPV by privatizing a service”, but has meant relegating these four City Council monitors to concierge positions, with a change in category included.

“The House of the Marquesa Valero de Palma is useless”

The mayor's criticisms have not been limited only to the current Sports area, as she has charged against the use of various current facilities in the city. "The House of the Marquesa Valero de Palma is useless," Font criticized in relation to the Museu de la Ciutat promised for years in that location and which is still not open. In addition, he recalled that the Ministry warned that many museums in the city did not comply with security regulations and had to be relocated, a transfer that according to Font has not yet been made effective despite the risk it entails.

Yes, he has mentioned the acquisition of new spaces by the current government, but he does not believe that it was the moment: "You do not buy the second home if you do not have the first one fixed."

Create a council for foreign residents, bet on the creation of private or "collaborative" residences, create a Criminal Court in Dénia... The proposals, framed in ten major themes, are many. Font, however, wanted to point out his three priorities: social welfare, taxes and youth. Because? "They are the weakest legs of the city: old, young and citizens who have to pay high bills."

In the end, if another party enters to govern, they will dedicate themselves to the same thing: "I remove it, the other I put it...." Gentlemen, ideas for the good progress of Dénia and its citizens…. This is what we want, ask us regardless of political ideas. It's that…..they don't learn or rather: they insult our intelligence
