The PP of Dénia declares war on the remnant, and on taxes, so that the neighbors "have more money"

19 2023 April - 13: 40

"We are living in fiscal hell." That's how blunt it has been expressed Pepa Font during the press conference held this morning at the electoral headquarters of the PP de Dénia, where he has appeared together with José Antonio Cristobal, number 2 and suitor to the Department of Finance, to announce his economic program for 28M. Font has criticized an allegedly deficient budgetary management of the PSPV and he has presented his economic promises that, like those of his party at the regional level, revolve around tax reductions. Thus, he assumes that the residents "having to pay less, will have more money".

According to the popular candidate for Mayor of Dénia, the Dianenses "suffer fiscal pressure above what is advisable." Font criticizes that there have even been tax increases despite having had to endure the residents of Dénia in a time as hard as that of the pandemic. In this line, Cristobal has stated that he does not understand how the City Council has not carried out economic policies to alleviate this tax burden on the people of Dénia.

The PP proposal is to reduce municipal taxes and fees by 20%. At least, in relation to the IBI, vehicle tax, ICIO, opening fees and capital gains. They will also carry in their program a plan to benefit the owners of fords in the city, since they plan to eliminate 95% of the fee that they must contribute to the City Council. It will be a bonus for owners registered in the city, but they have not clarified what will happen with those spaces shared with non-residents, for example with the parking lots of urbanizations with second homes.

The remnant in the spotlight

How do they intend to deal with bonuses by collecting less? José Antonio Cristobal has ensured that this tax reduction will not affect the social welfare of the Dianenses, because in order that it does not affect it, they have developed an efficiency plan. He has proposed to study and reduce the budget item called Various Expenses, which is a cushion in case it is necessary, from which they intend to save 1,5 million euros. He has also referred to the expenses of representation, travel, and others "that do not affect citizens."

But, with which he has made special emphasis, it is with all the money from the remnant of Dénia. It is about 26 million euros collected by the City Council and what it has, for what Cristobal considers a bad management. "26 million euros that they did not need but they have collected," criticized the popular because there has also been a 14% increase in taxes, insisting that "collect to save an average of 5 million of euros that are not used for anything is abusive.

The delay in the resolution of urban licenses will be profitable

Regarding the promises that, as they defend, they will carry out if they win the 28M, two stand out: a bonus in the building permits in the form of a self-imposed sanction if the department does not resolve in less than three months and a bonus to practically cover the full inheritance tax.

The PP has wanted to capture its alleged commitment to streamlining construction license procedures in the city through some sanctions that they will impose on themselves. In the case of major works, if a license is not resolved in less than 90 business days (unless it is for imputable causes), the hypothetical PP City Council agrees to subsidize 90% of the rate. The same happens with minor work licenses, only in this case the term is set for 60 days.

The inheritance tax, from which several parties of the Valencian right disagree, also has its space in the program of the PP of Dénia. This is because Font's party has promised to reward people who inherit with 95% of the contribution. In this way, they want to reduce the cost to the minimum possible.

oh!!! And also… two hard-boiled eggs. And that she rains coffee in the field. And a ticket factory... Oh Lord!

  2. Dani says:

If they lower taxes, what does the City Council live off?
And as for the remainder, use it for something healthy.
It would take an "account department" to deal with issues like this and not play with our money.
They are managing the city's money and that should be done by the "Department of Accounts".
Because of the City Council to manage the money we have the BUS STATION that we have.
    So that has to end.
    So be it

  3. Josefa F. says:

In other words, they are going to load the remaining treasury and they are going to leave the city council bare again. And that they are going to give out more construction permits to a bunch and if they don't, the city council will pay the builders for not doing it.
    ARE WE CRAZY OR WHAT?
At least they don't hide and say it face to face. But I don't know if that scares me even more.

    • Jose Carlos says:

I don't think you understand what they are saying. The city council has 26 million remaining cash. A town hall does not have to save, they have to reinvest the money, for that they charge us taxes, right? And the works what they say is to expedite the works licenses that at this moment take months (or years) to be given and they want to expedite to avoid delays. I don't think they said anything weird really

  4. Jose says:

I promise, I promise, I promise, I promise... hahahahaha, they are all the same!!! Pp, psoe, I'm going, we can, citizens, etc etc

Go and get to work for real politicians, and thus you will contribute something to society!

    • Dani says:

      What reason are you
We have a government that only wants power, a critical opposition, and a selfish Congress focused on its own interests.
This is not how the Republic can be built.
The Spanish Federative Democratic Republic. The new Yugoslavia.
      Not that way.
      Really all the reason
