The senior assembly Garbi Dénia concluded its season in First Autonomic with a defeat in its own fief before the BM Horadada, before which it fell by 26 to 30. A defeat that leaves the dianenses in the fifth place of the final classification.
The farewell party for the kids led by David Salanova was cold, the municipal pavilion of Dénia recorded a poor entry, to be played in Fallas parties.
Since the start of the match the locals were below on the scoreboard, the fact of not being able to print a high rhythm of play, forced them to play against the formed defense of their rival. The lack of players in the first line game forced him to base most of his attacks with penetrations up to seven meters or with balls at the ends.
The defensive intensity of the dianenses was high but they found several imbalances that the visiting team knew how to take advantage of to make a difference in the scoreboard. In spite of going underneath in the score the boys of Salanova continued inside the party and left to the rest with a disadvantage of 3 goals, (12-15).
In the opening minutes of the second half the locals tried to reduce the differences, knowing that it was the best time to try. Their lack of bench depth, was going to take their toll in the final stretch of the crash. That is why they looked for solutions before reaching those last ten minutes.
The visitors did not let the dianenses enter the game and they knew how to maintain their advantage to reach the end of the regulation time with the score in favor. The match concluded with a win for BM Horadada by 26 to 30.
Remarkable season of a very young team
Despite closing the season with a defeat the balance that the coaching staff and the management of Garbi Dénia is very positive. The team during the first phase of the league was among the best of its group and what was more important, with a very young human group. You could see on the track people who have a short career as seniors who have had before a season of learning, where they have shown that they have known how to compete.
The insulting youth of this group of players makes us hope to form a much more compact group for the next campaign, where these guys will have more experience.
Bad luck as an injury to important people in the group like José García or veteran Felipe Garrido prevented the team from having a better championship final.
The competition is over for them and now is the time to start working with an eye on the next season where it is logical to think about the continuity of most players and the possible incorporation of some more player. The work of this senior team must be complemented by the work done in the youth team and cadet.
