The HCB Dénia health team is trained in Ultrasound in Critical Care to improve care in the Emergency Department and ICU

February 09 from 2023 - 11: 00

HCB Denia hosted last week the course of Ultrasound in Critical Care organized by the Spanish Society of Ultrasound in Critics - ECOCRITIC, to which the Anesthesiologist of HCB Dénia, Dr. María Serna, belongs.

The objective of this course has been to train health professionals dedicated to the care of unstable patients in ultrasound, that is, those patients who are in hospital emergencies, out-of-hospital, in a perioperative environment or in intensive care.

The use of ultrasound will allow the HCB Dénia staff to shorten the times in the diagnosis of the patient in shock, respiratory failure or multiple trauma patients. Therefore, therapeutic measures can be initiated early, in addition to serving as a guide in treatment and monitoring the situation of unstable patients.

The course has been taught in two modalities, the first online, with video tutorials and continuous feedback, and the other, in person, at the hospital itself, working on the application of ultrasound in critically ill patients and its integration into simulated scenarios.

HCB Hospitals It opened its doors last July, incorporating the 24-hour Emergency Service from day one. In November, finishing the opening phases of the new hospital, the Intensive Care Unit was inaugurated, becoming the only private hospital from Valencia to Benidorm with an ICU.
