The Department of Health of Dénia -DSD- has celebrated its 6th Scientific Day this week. The opening was conducted by the DSD Managing Director, Luis Carretero; the Director of Training, Research and Teaching, Jaime Poquet and the Head of Research, Joan Manel Gasent.
The act, which took place in the Assembly Hall of Hospital de Dénia, has been structured around three major sections: Innovative Projects, recognitions in the field of Scientific Production and final presentation.
In the section of Innovative Projects has distinguished the doctors Vicent Primo and Abel Gregorio for the development in Dénia of the technique Embolization of superior rectal arteries for the treatment of hemorrhoidal pathology. Also the doctor of the Health Center of Gata, Carlos Mulet, has been highlighted in the same category by the design of an App to detect arrhythmias.
In terms of Scientific Production, the works carried out by DSD professionals during 2017 received special mention. Two doctoral theses have been distinguished: "Games of linear production with a common external resource", by Elisabeth Gutiérrez and the Study of nasal colonization by Staphylococcus Aureus in children with atopic dermatitis, by dermatologist Laura Berbegal.
There has also been a mention of the best publication in Scientific Magazine and the most outstanding oral communications and posters of those presented to congresses during the past year. The act ended with the awarding of distinctions for the research work carried out in Primary Care and Nursing.
The act has completed the recognition of a research work on Residents and the presentation of Alvaro Merino, expert in Emotional Intelligence.
