El Marina Health Hospital and the health centers of the Department of Dénia celebrate today, Thursday 5 of May, the World Day of Hand Hygiene. To this end, they have programmed a series of activities to raise awareness among health professionals and the general population about the importance of maintaining proper hand hygiene to prevent diseases, seasonal allergies or the spread of bacteria responsible for many infections.
One of these activities is a flashmob who have recorded center professionals playing the way it is advisable to wash your hands. In addition, a professional will be dedicated to teaching young plant pediatrics, through songs and hygiene items to clean hands thoroughly.
Regardless of these specific activities, the center conducts periodic actions to ensure that its professionals maintain proper hygiene. Through Preventive Medicine organized every year different training sessions for all health workers, including lectures and workshops (classroom and online) are included. The aim is to inform, raise awareness and update knowledge regarding hygiene standards that will dictate the WHO, which underlines the importance of the same for the prevention of many diseases and infections and save lives.
Since the beginning of this year have launched audits to verify the correct implementation of the protocols through a process of direct observation in different hospital services and plants.
Finally, the number of liters of hydroalcoholic solution serves as an indicator to measure hand hygiene in the department, which in 2015 was 3.000 between the hospital and health centers distributed throughout the Marina Alta.
