The works that are being carried out especially in the center of Dénia were the protagonists of the plenary held at the City Council this Wednesday afternoon. In addition to the questions from the councilors of the opposition on the subject, the room was filled with merchants and neighbors, especially from La Mar street, who demanded solutions to problems that work can generate for the summer.
In the first place were the councilors of the Party those who presented a motion for the works to be paralyzed in the months of July and August. The motion, which had been submitted as a matter of urgency, did not go through the process and was not even debated. The Councilor for Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, explained that if they are paralyzed, million-dollar investments would be at stake, since all the works have to be completed before June 2019.
The councilor of GDCU, Pepa Font, pleaded to negotiate with the Ministry both the stoppage and the extension of the deadlines, stating that they can find understanding in the autonomous entity and avoid the collapse in the center of Dénia during the summer.
After the plenary session was over, during the public's turn, there were many questions that were asked, by different people, about the works and the work schedule. One of the neighbors asked Ripoll directly if they are going to negotiate with the Conselleria those stoppages, to which the councilor replied that they will not do it.
The discomfort of the neighbors was palpable in the environment, in a somewhat tense plenum with delicate issues on the table that did not leave the affected or the opposition satisfied.
