The Governing Board has agreed today to tender the completion of the works of adaptation of a permanent exhibition hall of the painter Joan Castejón in the Municipal House of Culture. This new room will be located on the ground floor of the House of Culture and occupying the current space of the culture department.
This reordering will mean that part of the current offices of the department will go to the old children's library located on the ground floor of the House of Culture.
The exhibition hall resulting from the work will initially be exclusively dedicated to the artist's work given to the City Hall of Dénia.
The works will consist of the adaptation of the new spaces in works, their lighting and air conditioning. No more elements of the building will be modified since it will only be performed in the exhibition hall, respecting both the current configuration and structure of the building, as well as its current uses and fire safety measures.
This is the first performance of revaluation of the House of Culture and revitalization of the current units after the transfer of the Municipal Library to Sant Josep Street. The culture councilor, Raúl García de la Reina, said that the government team plans to launch new actions in the building in the coming months to help boost the activities carried out there together with the UNED of Dénia.
