The pathologist at Hospital de Dénia, -Ribera Sanitary Group- the Dr. Juan Laforga, has remained among the world top three finishers in the resolution of 81 complex cases of neoplasms presented at the “XI Arkadi M. Rywlin Slide Seminar Symposium”, recently held in Porto.
To the meeting, organized by Saul Suster, Wisconsin, Milwaukee and Manuel Sobrinho Simoes, from Sao Joao University Hospital, Porto; attended more than 150 pathologists of all the world. The symposium featured specialist pathologist speakers from prestigious cancer centers, such as Dr. Elvio Silva and Anais Malpica, from the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
During the congress, which took place over three days in the Portuguese city of Porto, around thirty speakers presented the resolution of 81 unique cases in Pathology, from different disciplines such as breast tumors, gynecology, soft tissue, thorax , gratrointestinal, genitourinary or head and neck. Prior to the presentation at the meeting, the attendees had to resolve the 81 cases online and, at the end of the symposium, the three anatomopathologists who did the best were awarded; among them Dr. Juan Laforga, from the Pathological Anatomy Service of the Dénia Hospital.

Dr. Laforga works at the Dénia Hospital from 2009 and has been carrying out his care and research work in surgical pathology in the areas of breast, gynecological, thoracic, genitourinary, skin, soft tissue and cytopathology pathology. She also has more than 80 publications in international specialty journals.
