The Ministry of Health has made public the data on new infections in the Valencian municipalities and health departments. This update is accompanied by bittersweet news because while Dénia improves its figures the Marina Alta suffers a new worsening.
The Dénia health department, on which the entire region depends, has notified 22 new coronavirus infections (8 more than in the last update). Therefore, it already has 9.863 infections since March 2020, of which 54 remain active. The positives detected during the last fortnight cause the accumulated incidence of the Marina Alta to increase again to 31,65 infections per 100.000 inhabitants, placing the department outside the new normal, although with a low level of contagion risk.
In the case of Dénia the news is much more optimistic. It only adds 4 new cases (one less than in the previous update) and its active cases fall to 9 of the 3.070 registered since the pandemic began. This causes its incidence to also deflate to 21,01 infections, returning to new normal levels.
