Dénia receives the special award for gastronomic communication at FITUR

Dénia receives this Thursday, Valencian Community Day at FITUR, the third SICTED award for a consecutive year in the "Best tourist destination" category.

The SICTED awards are organized by the Secretary of State for Tourism and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and, in particular, the aforementioned category recognizes "the commitment of the managing entity in favor of the competitiveness of tourist services."

In addition, Dénia obtained this Wednesday the special award for the communication of the experience in gastronomic tourism awarded by the entity Together with the hospitality industry and collected by José Luis Yzuel, president of Hospitality of Spain; the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt; the president of AEHTMA (Hospitality and Tourism Business Association Marina Alta), Cristina Sellés, and the Minister of Tourism, Nuria Montes.

For her part, Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, visited the Dénia stand that same day, where Grimalt presented her with a decorative plate made with posidonia.

The stand also presented a pilot project of the digital twin, which will serve to monitor the presence, behavior and impact of tourists in the territory.

    Now they talk about "Slow Tourism" as the solution to mass tourism, at the same time that they continue to expect and promote mass tourism and tourist speculation. Another useless new concept. How are you going to control the tourist volume? Restricting it?

    And I wonder when we will see our representatives visit and promote our city of Denia or the entire region in some seminar or industry fair, which there are also.
    Because going to Fitur, promoting ruinous mass tourism, no matter how much we give it a "sustainable" sticker, we know that it has very little or nothing about sustainability.
    Tourism, as in many articles published in this medium, has made a few rich, for the rest and above all the young people it is a poorly paid and temporary job, with practically no long-term contracts and no possibility of coexistence with a decent family life.
