10 September 2021 - 16: 24

Dénia participates in the training program of the Missions València 2030 project, which began yesterday at the Las Naves innovation center of the Valencia City Council. The objective of the workshops, organized by the General Directorate of Innovation of the Department of Universities and Las Naves, is to accompany the municipalities selected to participate in this pilot initiative in the search and implementation of innovation strategies to improve the lives of citizens .

The four planned training sessions will take place during the months of September and October, workshops that the municipalities must replicate in the localities.

The first three, developed this week, have focused on: Identifying urban challenges through participatory diagnosis; Identification of city models and relevant areas of the municipality, through visual history (a tool that helps to imagine and describe the ideal future); and the development of a strategic framework, based on a brainstorming exercise.

The last workshop will be held online throughout October and will consist of the municipalities choosing the innovation missions, in order to create a catalog of innovation missions.

The general director of Innovation, Sonia Tirado, has highlighted that this program wants to help municipalities on the path towards the “triple transition: digital, green and social, which we are experiencing and which must reach every corner of the Valencian Community to be the smart, sustainable and inclusive territory that we want to be ”.

Dénia is part of the six selected municipalities together with Alfàs del Pi, Vila-real, Onda, Ontinyent and Riba-roja. The municipal departments of Participation and Modernization and the Office of Innovation are in charge of monitoring this project, which links with the work being carried out by the city council for the implementation at the local level of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), now in diagnostic phase of public policies.

The findings of this pilot program will be brought together in a toolkit that any municipality can take advantage of.
