Dénia will be present at Madrid Fusion with the best gastronomic proposals

Dénia participates this January in the global gastronomy congress Madrid Fusión with the help of Saborea España, a gastronomic tourism product club of which it is a member. The 22nd edition of the gastronomic contest will take place from Monday, January 29 to Wednesday, January 31, being an opportunity to reinforce the positioning of Dénia as a Creative City of Gastronomy and to make Dianense gastronomy and its products visible through workshops, demonstrations and gastronomic tastings. that will be offered during the congress.

In this edition, Turismo Dénia, with the collaboration of AEHTMA, has trusted the chefs of the Venta de Posa & El Carreter restaurant. Its head chef, Federico Guajardo, accompanied by chefs Darwin Allauca and Santiago Logacho, will prepare three gastronomic proposals that can be tasted by visitors to the Dénia stand during the Tapa Route organized by Saborea at the congress, as well as the rest of days of the contest.

Dénia representatives will offer three tapas: scolded toast with tomato sponge, lettuce gel with dried octopus and capellan, 'Sustainability of the red shrimp from Dénia' and the 'Horchata popcorn and foie' tapa.

In addition, on Monday the 29th, Federico Guajardo will prepare the dessert 'Perfecto de Turrón with almond ice cream and touches of lemon' that will be tasted in a gastronomic menu prepared jointly by all Saborea destinations for prescribers from the gastronomic field invited to the event.

Madrid Fusion Activities

Likewise, the cooks from the Venta de Posa & El Carreter will teach experiential workshops of tapas for groups of ten people in the Gastronomic Classroom of the Saborea España space, where participants will be able to directly prepare the following proposals:

  • Day 29 - Desserts with local products Marina Alta, by Darwin Allauca.
  • Day 30 - Use of the Dénia red shrimp, by Santiago Logacho.
  • Day 31 - Our way of seeing the Valencian salad, by Santiago Logacho.

The Les Freses de Jesús Pobre winery, like previous years, will participate with its wines at the Dénia stand and will offer the workshop/tasting 'Queen variety of whites: Moscatell', taught by Ángela Sendra on the 29th and 30th in the Classroom Of the wine.

Carlos García Moreno, chef and manager of the restaurant, will also be present at Madrid Fusión on the 30th. dexcaro & Ossadia from Dénia, who will give the presentation 'Sea with tradition and avant-garde in Dénia'.

Local companies

The Dénia stand will also bring together the offer of gastronomic products from the area and will have the collaboration of companies in the sector such as Cidoncha, with its cokes, and Melicatesen, which will exhibit products from the Marina Alta such as jams and honeys.

Mayor and Councilor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, will attend this international gastronomic event and will be present at different institutional events that will take place during the event. The Dénia delegation will be completed with technical staff from Turismo Dénia and the manager of AEHTMA, Reme Cerdá, who will attend the destination's stand.

The forecasts are for a large influx of public, following in the wake of the 2023 edition, considered “historic”, in which record numbers of visitors, congressmen and journalists were reached.

FITUR

A few days before, Turismo Dénia will begin its 2024 promotion plan by participating in the FITUR International Tourism Fair in Madrid, a meeting point for professionals in the sector and a first-rate tourism promotion event.

The mayor and Councilor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, accompanied by technical staff from the department, will cover an intense work agenda during the days dedicated to professionals, prior to the opening of the fair to the public.

On the one hand, the presentation of a pioneering project is planned, a 'digital twin' for Dénia (January 24, 16 p.m., Comunitat Valenciana stand). This pilot project has been developed by Dénia, as a Smart Tourist Destination, in collaboration with the Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies and the company Esri.

SICTED Award

The next day, Thursday, January 25, at 13:30 p.m., the mayor and Councilor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, will attend the delivery of the SICTED awards granted by the Secretary of State for Tourism and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces .

An event in which Vicent Grimalt will receive the 3rd prize awarded to Dénia in the 'Best SICTED destination' category that recognizes "the commitment of the managing entity in favor of the competitiveness of tourist services." This is the second consecutive year that the city has received this distinction.

Other events planned at FITUR are a meeting with representatives of the town councils of Iivissa and Cambrils to address the evolution of the 'Vive la Posidonia' project; meetings with tourism providers, especially technological solutions and tools; and the annual assembly of Saborea España (January 26).

In-person attention at the Costa Blanca stand, located in pavilion 7 of the fairgrounds, will take place throughout the fair, both on professional days and during the weekend for the general public. For the attention of the visitor and promotion of the destination, Turismo Dénia carries promotional and informative tourist material on the different products in order to provide complete and updated information.

The experience of previous years indicates that the visiting public during the weekend is, in general, a public that is quite knowledgeable about the destination, loyal to it, who repeats visits to Dénia during a vacation period or getaways and who wants to increase their knowledge of the destination. in a personalized way with more specific tourist information.
