Compromís presents new proposals to make Dénia a reference cultural destination

28 2023 April - 14: 14

Compromís continues to make public issues of its program, although it remains open to proposals from the public through the channels they have enabled, and remember that next Thursday, May 4, it will be reviewed in its entirety with an open coffee at 17:30 p.m. in the cafeteria House of Culture Denia.

Today they have announced different proposals for Culture, understood as "a crucial pillar of the commitment of Compromís", he said Rafa Carrió, candidate for Mayor and the one who was Councilor for Culture and Education from 2015 to 2019. «The city councils have to apply policies that benefit general access to culture, as well as empower mediators, creators and cultural producers in Dénia, for that will increase the budget, never being less than 3% ».

People and Culture

.

"With the aim of reinforcing Dénia's position as a cultural benchmark and making it more participatory" from Compromís, the first thing they promise to do is relaunch the Council of Culture, "a body that we created in order to serve as a space for dialogue, coordination and participation of public and private agents in the management of programming and cultural resources and that this legislature has not played a leading role", said Carrió. From here, a Strategic Plan would be drawn up that would collect the needs and the planning of actions with the voice of the local fabric.

Apart from what may arise from this inclusive tool, Compromís is committed to creating new reference arts and music festivals with regional companies, as well as facilitating bureaucracy and public spaces to celebrate music and art festivals that are a tourist attraction. Likewise, promote the celebration of Cultural Fairs on the world days of different artistic manifestations; creation of new prizes and thematic contests to promote local creation; o Facilitate street art in all its expressions, with an agreed programming, circuits and mediation in permits; beautify urban spaces with sculptures, works by artists from Dénia and bet on Recicla-Art.

To promote the private sector of culture, the creation of cultural industries will be favored with aid to new businessmen and entrepreneurs, and to projects and shows within the cultural framework. At the same time, work will be done to obtain lines of subsidies for the associative fabric and companies, and "we will commit ourselves to help in the dissemination and conditioning of cultural spaces that favor cultural creation." In this sense, it is also committed to creating an online platform for local culture to publicize the products and services of the social and business fabric dedicated to culture.

In addition, the creation of IVAM and MUVIM headquarters will be studied to make the culture of the great Valencian museums accessible in Dénia and work to be the Valencian Cultural Capital.

Cultural heritage

The Museu de la Mar, the cultural cluster of Cavallers, the Verger Alt del Castell, or the Public Library are some of the examples of works with Compromís that show the work dedicated to valuing cultural heritage. "We believe that Dénia has a very large heritage potential that still needs to be promoted and offered to tourists as an additive claim to the traditional sun, beach and gastronomy."

More museums: Compromís proposes the museumization of the Maristas basement, the remains of the Fortí, and the rehabilitation of the Bunkers, the Trinquet as a cultural space, and the enhancement of all the historical remains of Dénia, carrying out related cultural activities . For example, promoting the Benimaquia sites and holding an ethnological fair. In addition, it formulates making a cultural-technological Museum of the Railway in the Faroleta II building "so that the memory of the Train in Carcaixent lasts and not forget that we want the Gandia-Dénia train"; It is also committed to creating an Interpretation Center in La Faroleta; as well as reaching an agreement to give a definitive solution to the Caldera del Gas, opening Carlos Sentí.

This without forgetting the need to carry out the Castell Master Plan; create routes connected to all the spaces, and a QR platform with explanatory guides and audio guides of the Castell, streets, historical buildings, museums and rooms; and the digitization of municipal historical funds. Lastly, they will work on the reversal of public ownership of all those assets unregistered illegitimately by the Church.

Language

"Without forgetting that language is a fundamental part of who we are as a culture, from Compromís we will continue to promote it in the public sphere and give it the place it deserves as its own language," Carrió added. Thus, they will create a regulation of Linguistic Coexistence to guarantee that at least 50% of public activities (cultural, sports, social...) have Valencian as the vehicular language.

The Valencianists advocate guaranteeing the use of the co-official language in all municipal elements, as a requirement, and for implementing tools for linguistic non-discrimination against Valencian speakers in any sphere of public life. Likewise, a language accompaniment and support service will be created for migrants, and municipal promotion campaigns will be increased.

  1. Pedro says:

These acts and cultural events are of little use. I don't usually find out anything, because in most cases they are only and exclusively in Valencian, which many residents or visitors to Dénia are not lucky enough to know. Every day they make me want not to go back there.

  2. Dani says:

Always with the language as a political weapon, what a cynicism, those of us who do not speak Valencian seem second to these Catalan pro-independence parties, instead of uniting and going together they only divide and create confrontation and conflicts where there are none, imposing a language in schools and for to oppose that very few people use instead of promoting our great language, the second after English.
What's more, they prioritize Valencian before English or Spanish in schools and that's how it goes.

    • Yo says:

Promote Spanish and English and French, German or Chinese as a third language if you want an open society and young people with a future and do not close yourself off in your ideologies of regionalist caciques who are taking us to the Middle Ages with their nonsense progressive ideologies

    • Dani says:

Spain is One, Plural and Diverse.
And you have no right to end that. Falangist
      So, visit the Valencian Country!

      • Luis says:

Visca la cassalla and celebrate them!! Which is the only thing they know how to do. Subsidized by all Spaniards.

    • Tone says:

Dani, explain to me what is negative about doing a percentage of activities in Valencian. Let's see if the one who divides is you, who does not accept our language. I have no problem with doing activities in any language

  3. Ignacio says:

Language? what language? Ask the English, German, Swiss, Dutch communities if they understand, speak or use Spanish? None, on top of that you have to give them everything chewed up lest they get traumatized by saying a simple "Good morning" when you run into them.
Cultural heritage? Which? The one that they have never strengthened and have diluted by transforming it into costumbrista folkloric festivals to attract tourism and set up a stage for the mini-theatre?

  4. Ana says:

    What a cool photo

  5. Dani says:

This country needs less nationalists and selfish people and more equality.
What Compromis proposes is pure selfishness.
Making you swallow Valencian through a funnel is an undemocratic bad practice.
But hey, that's what nationalism has

    • Isa says:

But are there many Danes here or are you the same one that Visca el País Valencia has written in another comment? You should have it looked at...
