Citizens denounce the lack of transparency of the City Council

August 03 from 2018 - 06: 23

The municipal spokesman for Citizens, Sergio Benito, has denounced the abandonment of the transparency page of the City of Dénia in a "palmar breach of the law".

For Benito, it is impossible for a neighbor to have real capacity to be informed of the activity of his Town Hall examining the published data, "which also have to be simple and easy to reuse, according to the law", report in a statement.

Sergio Benito lists the shortcomings of the page in recent years, going back to 2016, when they stopped publishing economic data, such as budgets, or the economic amounts of subsidies. Benito remembers that "the vast majority of agreements are not published, including those that regulate the obligations for subsidies", and that in 2017 they stopped publishing the judicial resolutions even though a commission of investigation demanded that it be done.

The councilor shows that in the personnel chapter is not published the list of jobs, nor their retributions (in a generic and anonymous), and that public procurement is missing most of the contracts and all of the smaller amount and direct award.
