Rotes-Montgó sewer chronology of a disastrous work

February 22 from 2017 - 09: 59

Year 2008. The Júcar Hydrographic Conference announces 14.000.000 euros to carry out the Montgó sewage system and the Rotates. Thus begins what promised to be a definitive solution for the residents of these peripheral areas of Dénia and that has ended up being a disaster of broken streets, investments that decrease year after year and a project that has nothing to do with the one announced nine years ago .

Those first 14 million euros passed in a few months to be 11 million: the secondary collectors, the connections and the asphalting were eliminated. Three million euros less than the government team at that time, headed by Ana Kringe, He pledged to take once they were completed major works.

The works begin, and with them the problems. In early 2013 problems with ditches and roads cut lead the council to denounce the construction company to the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar to assume the damages caused, totaling more than 600.000 euros. Finally, the company paralyzes the works.

At this point, the company will have paid 5 million euros for works which, in the opinion of the neighbors are not completed and, in addition, are poorly executed. Now, after negotiations, the current council has managed to allocate 700.000 euros to fix poorly executed collectors.

There are many doubts that these works have generated Montgó neighbors and Les Rotes, the most affected by this situation. In addition to the more than 5 million remaining to invest, they want to know why the City does not require that the project is carried out as originally drafted. Also they want to know why a project bound by the Committee on the European Environment, is performed only one 43,91% and also not meeting the guidelines of the Commission.

That is why the association of Veïns del Montgó requests in a letter that the initial project be carried out, since they believe that it is not the responsibility of citizens not to do these things well "And it is not they who have to pay for the broken dishes". Also request to cease subsurface contamination because "for that the project was done", and "That there are no more fudges, leaving the project halfway and with the money disappeared".

    Regrettable!!!
The city council, as always, washes its hands. He allowed all the streets to be broken up, he acted late and badly, and they pretend that now the neighbors of the Montgó, after years of suffering and abandonment, take charge of paying for the attacks on public roads under penalty of a fine. This city council has no shame, the project must be complete, that's why the money was already committed. What has happened to the millions who have disappeared from this project? Why do not they explain it to us?
