The Local Police of Denia has launched, since the last 3 in December, the figure of the Mediating Agent, a police mediation service for the resolution of conflicts between citizens through dialogue and consensus.
The typology of the cases that can be mediated by the Local Police are problems of neighborhood coexistence, noise nuisances or bad odors, problems due to the use of public space (parks, squares, gardens), discomfort due to works or pets, conflicts between youth and adolescents, incidents related to traffic, problems in rural areas such as those caused by boundaries or cleaning plots or problems in the field of commercial establishments, among others.
Agents Juan Antonio Tous and Juan José Bordes are in charge of the service. During this time, mediation cases have intervened in 15, all resolved satisfactorily. To participate in the mediation process, both parties must agree to do so, the principle of voluntariness to initiate it being basic. If the process ends in an agreement between the parties, the mediation team follows up approximately thirty days later to verify compliance.
How to access the Mediator Agent
Any person can resort to the police mediation service by personally contacting the team of agents that make up the premises of the Local Police of the Madrigueres Sud game, or by phone by calling 96 578 01 90, or by sending an email in which briefly specify the conflict to be mediated and the personal data to the address agent.mediador@ayto-denia.es. It can also be requested by check-in at the City Office of the City of Dénia or telematically at oac.denia.es
Balance of the first year of Dénia Cares
2017 was also the year of the launch of the "Dénia Cares" program, a prevention and safety plan in tourism that includes many new lines of action and includes others that the Local Police had already implemented successfully in previous summers, such as the incorporation of reinforcement agents to the template or the bracelet campaign to locate minors in case of loss.
After only one year since its start-up, an 59% compliance plan has been reached, which establishes 54 items to be fulfilled in a period of 4 years.
