Today, like every 23 in April, the UNED of Dénia celebrates the day of the book with a solidarity day of exchange of books for food. For weeks, the organization of 1 1 book x kilo He has been collecting books donated by students and local residents to make this day a reality.
This Day of the Book, the doors of the UNED of Dénia, in the Municipal House of Culture, they are a coming and going of people of all ages who come to collaborate with the cause. For each kilo of food donated, one of the available books may be taken.
More than 40 volunteers will attend, throughout the day, the employees of this solidarity party, which will allocate all the food collected during the day to the Dénia Solidarity Round Table, made up of Extiende Tu Mano, Cáritas, Red Cross Dénia and the Army of Salvation.
In the early morning, the mayor of Denia approached this meeting, Vicent Grimalt; next to the councilors of culture, Rafa Carrió; territory, Maria Josep Ripoll; and governance, Javier Scotto. The director of the UNED, Raquel Martí, together with his team, are serving as hosts and coordinators of this solidarity day.
