Educate schoolchildren to prevent abandonment of animals

With the aim of transmitting values ​​and appropriate behaviors when living with a pet, the Department of the Environment of the Municipality of Dénia, directed by Juan Carlos Signes, has launched a campaign to raise awareness about the responsibility of tenure and care of domestic animals, focused on dogs, with the aim of preventing abandonment or abuse.

240 students 2º primary Marist schools, Vessanes, Cervantes, Paidos, Carmelites and La Xara have attended this activity, which, through an audiovisual show them the story of a dog who comes home as a Christmas gift but with the passage of time it is left. The projection shows pictures of care for lost or abandoned in the APAD Denia protective dogs.

A questionnaire and a dramatization complete this educational activity in which the 50% of participating children have any pets.
