When the president announced that the landing was going to be at night and on the beach, he himself stated that it would be regular. Nothing could be further from the truth. The first Moorish landing held on the beach and at midnight dazzled the more than a thousand people who gathered at the Marineta Beach Casiana on Thursday night.
The breadth of the space allowed many more people to enjoy the arrival of the Moorish armies the coast of Dénia, where they awaited the Christian troops.
Punctual to their appointment, and announced by trabucazos to the air, the troops of the captain, Mabel Buigues, arrived at the border to conquer Christian earth. They disembarked on a mobile platform that took them to the sand, and from there they started on the way to the place where the Christians were waiting for them.
The ambassadors, Fany Font for the Moorish side and Pepe Martí for the Christian, took the floor to stay in the same land. After a fight between soldiers from which the half-moon warriors emerged victorious, the ambassadors, on behalf of their captains, proposed signing a truce and living together in peace. They did so, and that was what marked the start of the festivities of Moors and Christians of Dénia in honor of Sant Roc.
