Last night, residents of different coastal towns of Alicante notified the emergency service about an earthquake that shook a large number of populations.
The earthquake measuring 3 on the Richter scale was recorded after 6:21 p.m. on Wednesday night, with its epicenter in the Mediterranean Sea off Cabo de Palos. Although it took place at a depth of 30 kilometers, many residents of several Alicante towns called 10 due to the effects of the earthquake.
Although the greatest intensity was noted in Elx, Sant Joan d'Alacant, Alfàs del Pi and Mutxamel, the tremor also reached towns in the Marina Alta such as Dénia with a lower intensity.
