Opinion merchants of Denia: They value positively the D * NA but they ask a reflection to the organizers

19 October 2017 - 07: 58

Indeed, the first thing is to sincerely congratulate the architects of this event and especially, and without disparagement of anyone, Quique Dacosta for his generosity. Without a doubt, it has been an event with an unbeatable level of attendance. I believe that we would not be untrue by saying that so many people had not been seen in the Marineta Cassiana since 1609. A sincere congratulations to the entire team of Dénia Ciutat Gastronómica.

That said we suggest a reflection on the future of this event, at least as far as location, since it is true that the red line of comfort was transferred, something indispensable to enjoy any event, but especially the gastronomic. We are sure that the organizers are aware of this and much more, details and facts that we do not know, and that will put their brains to work to improve what is necessary.

We, entrepreneurs and merchants, in our humble opinion, wonder what would happen if, as a continuity of an event of this magnitude, we made it more inclusive. Once the first edition with such an international character has been planted (with success, sweat and blood), what would happen if we make the whole city, port, esplanade, castle, historic center, Consell, gastronomic streets, etc., participate in an event that is beneficial to all?

From this positivity, we offer to help in this sense, with our means, which are: statistics, knowledge and experience.

Again, and unfortunately, our Zasca is for the Interior Councilor, who, faced with the lack of means, according to his words, unilaterally and unexpectedly closed Campo Street on Friday 5 in the afternoon, getting that, while a major event was celebrated in a remote place, the center of the city was uninhabited and with little use by all; commerce, market, restaurants and services among others.

But why is it so hard to do something that we all win?
