Experts characterize as exceptional find terracotta piece donated by Pepe Vidal

The piece of terracotta found by Pepe Vidal while diving in the Marineta Cassiana area was cataloged as exceptional by Àngels Casanova, curator Museum of Archeology of Catalonia. Own, Josep Antoni Gisbert, archaeologist and director of the Museum of Dénia, agreed the label. As these experts do not agree is in defining what the object represents. Casanova thinks he is a Roman lamp that was used between the first century before and after Christ. To figure Gisbert shaped pipe smoking is more, the archaeologist said that what it was smoked hashish. Giving the piece, Pepe Vidal, director of CDT, a lover of diving and archeology meant was lucky because in the area where he found the piece had been diving at least two hundred times and had not seen. Vidal has collaborated with donor parts on other occasions, but never before had got a piece of much value as the terracotta.

The mayor of culture, Rafa Carrió, encourages people who are fond of scuba diving and find any rest that they contact the archaeological museum. With his collaboration he contributes to the cultural enrichment of the municipality.
