MontgoRock organization regrets what happened in a statement and notice to the public a new appointment
The cancellation of the MontgoRock Festival last weekend in Dénia aroused the outrage of the public who already had their ticket and who were surprised, less than 24 hours before the start, by the announcement of the cancellation of this musical event that was going to be held in the parking of the Maritime Station of Dénia.
Four days after the announcement, the organization has issued a statement on social networks in which it explains what happened. As they report, the problems began with the change of councils of Xàbia, the municipality in which the festival was to be held at first. «Lo teníamos todo claro con un señor que olvidó anotar y avisar a los nuevos que entraban», says the statement, «negación tras negación solo nos queda el cambio de municipio».
After finding the ideal location in the parking lot of the Maritime Station, the bureaucratic procedures begin: «desde el Ayuntamiento nos dicen que para adelante, que gusta la idea, los técnicos una maravilla, puntualizan dos cosas y listo». Once all the reports were approved by the corresponding technicians, they announced the change of location, with the complaints that came from the people who came from other municipalities.
Para evitar molestias, la organización ofreció autobuses gratuitos de Jávea a Dénia, y convirtió las entradas vendidas como ‘generales’ en entradas ‘Vip’. El viernes antes del festival, y tras una reunión de más de seis horas, la organización decidió suspender el evento.
The organizer of the festival, José Antonio Serrano, explains in the statement that «sentimos todo lo ocurrido, sobre todo por los que vinisteis desde lejos y gastasteis dinero en carretera y hoteles. Espero que al menos descubrieseis una zona bonita que seguir visitando. Para nosotros ha sido un palo, bueno uno no, varios».
Finally, the organization has announced that people who already had their ticket will have free access to the new edition of the festival, whose date is not yet established but will be announced shortly.
