The Local Board Fallera presents "Pólvora", the poster prepared by Merche Valdés for the Fallas of Dénia 2019

Gunpowder is the name of the poster that will illustrate the Fallas de Dénia 2019. The author is the graphic designer Merche Valdés, born in Ibi and living in Dénia since her childhood.

This Sunday, in the Ramon Sahuquillo Hall of the Real Club Nautico de Dénia, the official presentation of the poster was celebrated, in an act that counted with the presence of the major falleras of Dénia, Amparo Petrie and Neus Suárez, accompanied by their courts of honor and the representatives of the failures of Dénia.

Gunpowder reflects the memories of the author, hairdresser's daughter, when in the days of faults she ran early to her mother's hairdresser, fleeing from the noise and the smell of awakenings. That mixture of memories is what is reflected in the image that represents the failures of this year.

The author, who runs a design studio for more than a year in Dénia, was very grateful to the Dénia Fallera Local Board for trusting her for this important task.

With his election, the Fallera Local Board chaired by José Vicente Benavente continues the path started last year, trusting local artists to capture the festival of faults in Dénia year after year.
