The Fundació Baleària organizes this Saturday an online meeting of traditional Mediterranean music
The Fundació Baleària continues to organize online events with the aim of drawing cultural networks between the different territories in which it operates. On Saturday, June 13, the first Meeting of Traditional Mediterranean Music will take place, which is part of the Baleàrics 2.0 program and which will be broadcast on Baleària's YouTube channel from 18.00:XNUMX p.m. The line-up is made up of Catalan, Valencian, Balearic, Moroccan and Algerian musicians.
Specifically, from Catalonia the group Criatures and the singer Joana Gomila will participate; from the islands the Escola de Música i Dansa de Mallorca, the Colla de Xeremiers Des Pujol (Mallorca), Sa Bodega (Eivissa) and Cala Joia (Menorca); Colla El Falçó, the group Dolç Tab Jazz and the singer Jonatan Penalba will do it from Valencia. There will also be international music: Abdelali Errahmani (Nador) and Abdelkader Hadada (Tangier) will sing from Morocco; and finally, from Algeria, Amine Haouki & Hijaz Music Band (Mostaganem) will play, and the singer Lila Borsali (Oran) thanks to the participation of the Instituto Cervantes de Orán.
It should be remembered that Baleàrics 2.0 started during the confinement caused by Covid-19, and in the last two months there have been two music festivals, with renowned artists from various territories, a meeting of poets and a meeting of music bands . “The objective of the Fundació Baleària is none other than to transfer culture even in difficult times, when it cannot be done normally in physical spaces.
