The Diputación leaves Dénia without the subsidy to redevelop the West (at the moment)

November 29 from 2018 - 13: 32

Surprise in the City of Dénia before the information coming from the Diputación de Alicante. The provincial entity has left out of the Dénia subsidy line, and for the time being it will not be possible to redevelop the Valgamediós square, Mayor and Pare Pere streets and Tenor Cortis square.

As explained by the councilor for the territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, and the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the city council presented the required documentation in a timely manner. The files indicate that the general request left Dénia on October 22 and arrived at the Alicante Provincial Council the next day, on October 23. The last day to present it was October 30.

In that lapse of time, there was a call "informal" from the technicians of the Diputación to the municipal technicians in which they indicated to them that they modified a phrase of the document and they sent again the report. According to Ripoll, that phrase has no impact on the technical part of the project. "This is not a correction, it is more of an aesthetic issue than a substantive one", says Ripoll. That modified document was sent to the October 31.

From the City Council remember that there was no requirement to correct the documentation "precisely because it was presented in a timely manner".

Now they are going to «talk to whoever is necessary so that our documentation, which was presented in a timely manner, has the corresponding effects».

The mayor recalled that the agreement of the Diputación indicates that the municipalities that are left out will be included in the next treasury remnant, which is expected for the months of February and March. Grimalt has insisted that "nothing has been lost, if it does not enter this first batch, it will enter the remaining treasury".

The whole of the action amounted to 750.000 euros, and this subsidy would cover 65% of the total project. The mayor has indicated that the part that corresponds to the City of Dénia will be included in the municipal budgets of 2019 to be able to execute the works once the process with the Provincial Council of Alicante is corrected.
